Welcome
Welcome to my website. I hope you enjoy it.
As time has marched on my awareness of the world, and ESPECIALLY wildlife, has dramatically changed. Fifty years ago I was more enthralled with the various experiences I subjected myself to through all my travels & what I captured through my lens. Seeing different countries; experiencing different cultures, climates, people & the wildlife within.…I was young and wide-eyed.
After photographing my entire life, with the last thirty-five being focused on predominately wildlife, I see the fragility of it all - especially today in the current world in which we live.
I have seen a dramatic change in the animal & bird populations - making me realize that a lot of these animals and birds are on the verge of extinction and will not be around forever. This severe drop in population is due to many factors….encroachment on the lands in which they live, pollution in the skies in which they fly, poaching, adverse human interaction, diseases and climate change.
While the animals and birds are disappearing, the human population is multiplying. Poverty is at an all-time high and the human race is facing extreme challenges in just getting by. The fact that one group is decreasing and the other is increasing does not bode well for either.
Animals and humans are connected as is the future of our planet.
I love a quote by an old Indian Chief : “What is a man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of spirit, for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to man. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth.” Chief Seattle
There is not & has not been enough appreciation in this world for wildlife. Animal behaviorists for years have not accepted that animals have feelings and have always been unaccepting of anthropomorphism.
That said, take a good look at the photos on my site and I think you will agree that animals have been given the short end of the stick when it comes to protecting them and appreciating their value in this world. No one is out there feeding them….they have to do it alone and rely on their instincts to survive.
This is their story.
